Abbas Husain

Scholar, corporate and educational policy trainer

Abbas Husain is a Pakistani scholar, corporate and educational policy trainer and consultant who has directed the Teachers' Development Centre since 1997. He is one of the founders of the Society of Pakistan English Language Teachers (SPELT) and has published in national and international journals. The Teachers' Development Centre is also a collaborator of the Charter for Compassion in Pakistan.


As Director of the Teachers' Development Centre (TDC) he has conducted the Master Teacher's Course since 1997 and has so far contributed 529 teacher trainers to the national pool of trainers. Of them, over 100 have reached leadership positions in their own institutions within three years of the MTC. 


He has reached over 85,000 teachers all over Pakistan. He has conducted training in Oman, UAE, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and India. In February 2009, he attended the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington D.C. with President Obama as chief guest.


He has received LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD from the Millenium Institute for Professional Development Islamabad by Mohsin-e-Pakistan, the late Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan in February 2020.
